About the Event
After divorcing his wife, psychologist Erdem moves into a three-story apartment building on a desolate street—an inheritance from his grandfather that he hadn't visited for years and had previously used solely for rental income. The morning after his move, he is awakened by a visit from the building’s caretaker.
Erdem and the caretaker, Yakup, are the only two people in the building.
With his persistent and peculiar behavior, Yakup unsettles Erdem—who simply wants to be left alone—and is eventually sent away by Erdem rather brusquely.
Barely five minutes later, there is a knock at the door, and Yakup bursts back in. This time, however, he is wearing different clothes and acting like a completely different person.
Initially dismissing this as an annoying prank, Erdem resists the situation, but soon begins to consider—through the lens of a psychologist—that Yakup might have a second personality. Yet, as time passes, things take a turn for the worse: the apartment door has locked, and the key is missing.
Now, as Erdem tries to remain calm and find a way out by reasoning with Yakup’s alter ego, Yakup forces him to confront the building’s dark past.
Enlivened by the brilliant performances of Gürgen Öz and Aşkın Şenol, this fast-paced, 80-minute absurdist comedy takes the audience on a journey that is both entertaining and deeply thought-provoking regarding our social norms.
