Mamatlar Pond

Mamatlar Pond (Mamatlar Recreation Area) is a small natural lake and surrounding recreation area located in Mamatlar Village, Bozkurt district of Kastamonu. The village is situated in a high-altitude (approximately 1,500 m) forested region between Devrekani and Bozkurt. It is a tranquil pond hidden in a crater-like depression, surrounded by forests displaying every shade of green. It is a popular destination for picnics, nature walks, and relaxation. It is approximately 70 km (1-1.5 hours) from Kastamonu city center. With its abundant oxygen, tranquility, and natural beauty, the area is an ideal getaway for families and nature lovers. There are no large tourist facilities; it is more of a local recreation area.
