Welcome to the Mevlana Museum in the heart of Konya, one of the most important spiritual centers of Anatolia. Serving as the eternal resting place of the great Sufi mystic and poet Jalaluddin Rumi (Mevlana), who has become a universal symbol of tolerance, peace, and divine love for centuries, this site greets its visitors with its iconic Green Dome (Kubbe-i Hadra) noticeable even from a distance. Formerly the rose garden of the Seljuk Palace, this area is today a massive faith and cultural complex embracing millions of people from all over the world.
The mausoleum of Mevlana, dervish cells, the semahane (ritual hall), and the matbah (kitchen) sections located within the museum reveal the fine details and historical texture of Mevlevi culture. As you walk through the peaceful courtyard of the museum, where priceless manuscripts, historical carpets, and artifacts belonging to the Mevlevi order are exhibited, you will feel the deep and encompassing spirituality of Mevlana's "Come, come, whoever you are" philosophy in the deepest depths of your soul.
