Included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, the Diyarbakır City Walls are considered one of the longest and strongest historical walls in the world after the Great Wall of China. With a history of nearly 9,000 years, these massive structures made of black basalt stones span over 5 kilometers. The magnificent bastions, inscriptions, reliefs, and historical gates (Dağ Gate, Urfa Gate, Mardin Gate, Yeni Gate) on the walls offer a unique opportunity to view the city from a panoramic angle and witness thousands of years of history.
