Dergâh Mosque

Dergâh Mosque, also known as Mevlid-i Halil Mosque, is one of the important religious sites on the Balıklıgöl plateau in Şanlıurfa. Within the complex is a sacred cave where, according to tradition, Prophet Abraham was born and spent part of his childhood. The name “Mevlid-i Halil” means “the birthplace of Prophet Abraham.” The water flowing from inside the cave is also considered sacred by many visitors. With its spacious courtyard, dome, and minarets, the mosque stands close to Balıklıgöl and Şanlıurfa Castle. Visitors can pray, see the cave associated with Prophet Abraham, and experience the peaceful spiritual atmosphere of the area. Dergâh Mosque is one of the most important places to visit for those wishing to discover Şanlıurfa's religious and cultural heritage.
