Bursa Grand Mosque is one of the city’s most important historical and religious landmarks, representing early Ottoman architecture at its finest. Commissioned by Sultan Bayezid I and built between 1396 and 1399, the mosque is famous for its twenty domes, monumental scale and spacious prayer hall. It is regarded as the largest example of the multi-domed mosque form in early Ottoman architecture and remains one of Bursa’s defining symbols.
Inside, visitors can admire remarkable calligraphic panels, a finely crafted minbar made with the kündekâri technique and a central indoor fountain beneath the glazed dome. Located in the heart of the Hanlar District, Bursa Grand Mosque offers a rich architectural and cultural experience for visitors exploring the historic character of the city.
