Ortahisar Government House

I would now like to introduce the Government House located in the Ortahisar district of Trabzon. Currently serving as the governor's office, the building was opened in 1933, marking the 10th anniversary of the Republic. Reflecting the characteristics of the First National Architectural Style, the building stands out with its two-story structure, high ceilings, broad wooden eaves, and blue tile decorations on its facades.
The historic structure served as the Trabzon Governor's Office until 1985, after which it was allocated for various other public services. Following restoration work that began in 2020, it reopened as the governor's office on September 24, 2022. Standing as a testament to Trabzon’s administrative history and the architecture of the Republican era, the Government House is one of the significant landmarks in the city's historic center.
