Located in the village of Burunucu in Bulancak, the Burunucu Mosque and its associated burial ground (hazire) constitute one of the district's significant historical heritage sites surviving from the Ottoman era. Commissioned in 1842 by Ayşe Hatun—the wife of Karaibrahimzade Hasan Ağa—according to its inscription, the mosque reflects the 19th-century Black Sea mosque tradition through its stone walls, wooden ceiling, and simple architecture. The burial ground surrounding the mosque complements the structure's historical atmosphere with graves dating back to earlier periods. Additionally, the historic fountain situated next to the mosque is an important component of this small architectural complex. Today, the Burunucu Mosque and burial ground stand as a valuable destination that bears witness to Bulancak’s past and offers visitors the opportunity to experience the region's religious and cultural heritage firsthand.
