Akşemseddin Mosque is an early Ottoman structure located at the northwestern foot of Osmancık Castle in the Osmancık district of Çorum and is dated to around 1410. Known to have been part of the former Osmancık Madrasa, the building later became associated with Akşemseddin, the renowned scholar and teacher of Sultan Mehmed II, who taught here. Built with stone and brick, the mosque has a distinctive architectural character with its domed main hall and vaulted side rooms.
Still serving as a place of worship today, the mosque is an important stop for visitors exploring the historical character of Osmancık. Its location beneath the castle and its connection with Akşemseddin make it one of the notable examples of the district’s religious and cultural heritage.
