Altınözü Cimemi is a traditional handicraft from the Altınözü district of Hatay, made by weaving wheat stalks using a distinctive wrapping and binding technique. The stalks may be colored with natural dyes and decorated with motifs such as the sun, star, flowers, rooster, and passionflower. Used as bread baskets, fruit baskets, snack bowls, or decorative objects, Cimemi reflects Altınözü’s long-established craft tradition. Its natural materials and handcrafted production make it one of the district’s distinctive cultural products.
